About us
State Export Credit Guarantees are a key foreign trade promotion instrument of the Federal Republic of Germany. They are managed on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany by Euler Hermes Aktiengesellschaft. While German exporters and banks are largely familiar with this program as a cover and financing instrument, abroad the so-called Hermes Cover and its various forms are sometimes not so well known. There are numerous advantages for importers of German goods and services and exporters alike. For this reason, the Federal Government expands its advisory services in selected countries. This means that experts will also offer advice and support locally to German exporters and financing banks.
How importers benefit
Financing issues, particularly with capital goods purchases, play a key role in the investment decision making. Importers’ access to bank financing, longer loan tenors and financing margins can significantly benefit from backing by the Federal Government of Germany. Hence, the importer benefits from Germany’s credit rating. In many cases, it is this fact that makes financing possible in the first place. Thus, supported finance “Made in Germany” is an interesting alternative to local loans or bond financing.
New local presence in India
We are pleased to introduce Amol Mane as our new regional Representative for the Export Credit Guarantees of the Federal Republic of Germany, based in Mumbai, India. Amol is the Head of Competence Centre for German Export Finance at the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. With extensive experience in banking, structured finance, and export promotion, Amol advises German exporters, Indian importers, and financing partners on how Export Credit Guarantees can support safe and competitive international business – especially in one of the most dynamic markets in Asia. From individual consultations and company visits to local outreach events, he helps strengthen our presence on the ground and build lasting business relationships.
